Interpersonal Strategies and Principles for Supervisors, Managers and Team Leaders

(Two Day Training Seminar)

Success in the workplace is determined by one's ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, clients and customers. Each day in the workplace we need to strive to show a cooperative spirit, exercise politeness in dealing with others, demonstrate patience and build the self-esteem of employees.

Today's highly demanding workplace requires you, as a supervisor, to know how to get the most from your staff while at the same time treating them with the respect and appreciation they want and deserve. Tactful communication techniques are the most important tools you can use to supervise any group of workers effctively.

Through group exercises, individual presentations and group discussion this workshop will examine techniques to utilize interpersonal skills that will promote effective communication.

 Participants will learn:

        - Seven strategies for tactful communication

         - Ten principles to enhance listening skills

         - Methods for assertive communication

         - Coping skills for "prickly personalities"

         - Four conflict management styles and the strengths and weaknesses of each

         - Tactful and effective ways to tell the people you supervise what they need to hear to correct situations and behaviors
